Chesham Weavers, Brocade weaving workshop, April 2019
I’ve had a busy start to the Easter ‘holidays’ delivering my popular ‘Brocade and other extra weft techniques’ workshop to the Chesham Weavers group. Led by Bobbie Kociejowski, this is a brilliant weaving group that is celebrating its 25 year anniversary this year. One of the groups members is Wendy Morris, former owner of The HandWeavers Studio in London, and it Wendy I have to thank for asking me to deliver this workshop. Over 2 consecutive days, 13 industrious weavers applied themselves to the complex task of devising and weaving their own 8-shaft brocade motifs, juggling 2, 3 or even 4 wefts per design. We also looked at distorted weft and corduroy to rich effect.
If this workshop is of interest to you or your weaving group, do get in touch.
Below are some of the photo’s of students work that I took over the course of the workshop.
